On June 10, 2005, Yampavalley.info was awarded the Grand Prize WebJunction award for “Building Digital Opportunity through Community Engagement.” Our program not only placed first in our division for communities with populations between 10,000 and 24,999, but also placed first nationally against communities of all sizes. WebJunction is a community information network for librarians all over the United States. It serves as an information portal and allows libraries to adopt successful programs seen elsewhere in the country. It was funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2002, and because of this award, communities throughout our country will be exposed to the remarkable efforts of our work.
