Information Brokers It is hard to define Cooperative Extension because we are as diverse as our audiences. We are responsible to you, our tax payers, therefore each county differs in its programming. Our job is to be information brokers, to help you find the answer, resource, or professional that is right for the job. We do not claim to know everything, but we do promise to help you find what you are looking for. The best part is, most services are free or provided at a minimal cost.
Programs Cooperative Extension offers three main programs to the public: sustainable and profitable agriculture, 4-H/youth development, and family and consumer science education. Each office has a specialist in each of these areas, although sometimes in smaller counties the duties are shared by one or two people. Luckily, in Routt County we have an Agriculture Agent, 4-H/Youth Agent, and a 4-H/Family and Consumer Science Agent.
