For the last 10 years our Community has been raising the question, when are we going to build a Recreation Center to provide indoor recreation which will complement all that we currently have outdoors? CCRC, Citizens for a Community Recreation Center has brought the question to the forefront again, and for the last two years has been asking City Council to bring this issue to the voters. This November we will be presenting this question in the form of two referendums, 2B and 2C which will cover the capital construction costs and the operation of the facility. This will be an invaluable resource that will service our entire COMMUNITY

HISTORY OF PUBLIC INPUT The City of Steamboat Springs has engaged the services of GreenPlay LLC, a nationally-renowned parks and recreation consulting firm and Barker Rinker Seacat (BRS), a nationally-renowned architectural firm to explore recreational needs and indoor recreational space in the Steamboat Springs community. As part of this process, the consultants have been working to identify any potential site or sites that may be appropriate for future recreation facilities. They also hosted numerous public forums to get the pulse on what this Community really needs for the future as we continue to grow. They also have worked closely with the City Planning Department to ensure their design is meeting all architectural guidelines for the City of Steamboat Springs.
