What: Home ReSource is currently seeking “green-minded,” imaginative persons to create something, anything, out of materials* found at Home ReSource Salvage Center. Try out a distinctive way to express yourself while helping the environment!
Commitment: 2 hours to 2 months, take as little or as much time as you need to turn one person’s waste into your creative vision.
Who:Anyone! Scout troops, creative families or individuals, class projects, non-profit organizations, professional artists. This is a great project for artists, clubs, and families alike.
When & Where: Unveiling and judging** will take place on September 19, 2009 at Home ReSource.
Fame & Fortune: Submissions will be highlighted in local media and first place will receive a $1000 Home ReSource credit!
*Materials include building supplies (tools, metal, lumber, hardware, glass, doors, windows, paint/stain, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fixtures, tin, rebar, etc), appliances, vintage & collectible pieces, restaurant and ski equipment, bicycles, lawn & garden and automotive supplies, furniture, and more!
**Pieces will be judged on creative use of materials, level of cooperation and collaboration, and general aesthetic appeal, NOT SKILL LEVEL.
Come out and visit us at Home ReSource, located at the Milner Landfill, 20650 County Rd 205, to get motivated about a creative recycling art project. Take Hwy 40 west out of Steamboat, about a mile after Milner there is a sign for the landfill at County Rd 205, turn left here, cross rail road tracks and bridge, continue on until you see signs for Home ReSource. Distance from Steamboat is about 13 miles.
