Each winter beginning in 1983 and concluding in 2008, the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation sponsored the annual Snowball Dinner and Auction as a way to celebrate the winter season and benefit a local non-profit organization. The Snowball Event earned local agencies and organizations nearly three-quarters of a million dollars through live and silent auctions, dinner tickets and corporate sponsorships.
