Choices is a Career and Higher Education Planning website for both students and Parents. There are many different catagories of information including:
Assessments
The Interest Profiler helps you find out what your interests are and how they relate to the world of work. You can also use your checklist results as a starting point for searching for occupations using other topics.
The Transferable Work Content Skills Checklist is used to help you assess your skills and see related occupations.
The Work Importance Locator can help you learn more about your work values and can help you decide what is important to you in a job.
Databases
Use the connected databases in eChoices to help with your career exploration. All databases contain options for directly accessing information reports, or searching the database using many different topics. From the occupations database, you can select an occupation and see related programs of study, select a program and see schools that offer the program, then select a program and see details about the selected program at the selected school.
Graduate school and financial aid databases are also available.
Planner
The eChoices Planner provides an online portfolio for you to use as a tool in your career planning. Use the Planner to record information about you and your career plans, track your job search activities, and prepare your resume and cover letters.
eChoices Magazine
The sections of the eChoices Magazine provide a multi-directional information flow between eChoices users and the world of work. Read about a wide variety of career and education related topics in the daily Career Bytes. About My Job contains interviews with people from many different walks of life. Use Ask an Expert to pose your questions and review the questions that have been asked by others. In Let's Talk, you can join in a discussion with other users or review discussions from the past.
My eChoices Folder
This is the place for you to store and review information about your eChoices account. Presently you can set bookmarks to pages in eChoices and access them in your eChoices folder.
Account Manager
If you have administration rights in eChoices, you can use the tools in the Account Manager to review the accounts that have been created, assign rights, change passwords, and delete accounts.
Professional Resources
Career development professionals who use eChoices can gain access to additional resources in this section. A special discussion database is available to share issues and ideas with your colleagues. Additional resources will be available to help you use eChoices effectively with your clients or students.
