Advocates has served the citizens of Routt County by assisting victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence and their family members through crisis services, supportive counseling, advocacy, and community education, since 1983. Advocates provides the following services in its continuing effort toward decreasing and ultimately eliminating domestic and sexual violence.

24-Hour Response

Immediate phone or in-person response to victims of any crime. Primarily respond to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. At the request of law enforcement, will respond to crime scenes.

Response includes:

• Crisis counseling/support
• General and continuing advocacy
• Safety planning
• Emergency shelter
• Resources/Referrals

Residential Shelter

6-week residential shelter program for victims of domestic or sexual violence. Shelter program includes counseling, children's services, case management, advocacy and resource/referrals.
 

Counseling

Residential and non-residential short-term support counseling for victims and significant others.

Women's Support Group

Weekly support group for women who are presently or who have been in abusive relationships. Group meets at the Advocates' office on Wednesdays at noon. Call for more information.

Teen Support Group

Weekly support group for teenagers who have experienced some sort of sexual violence. Call for more information.

Criminal Justic Advocacy

 Staff can offer clients information, advocacy and court accompaniment.

Civil Proteciton Order Assistance

 Staff assists and accompanies clients in the court process.

Consulting

 For businesses and human services professionals.

Community Education/Awareness

Various presentations offered for law enforcement, civi groups, faith communities, health and human service professionals, schools (students and faculty/staff) and the general community. Presenations offered to raise community awareness regarding issues including, but not limited to: domestic violence, sexual violence, the impact on children witnessing violence in the home, workplace violence teen dating violence, bullying and the services offered by Advocates.
