Advocates has served the citizens of Routt County by assisting victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence and their family members through crisis services, supportive counseling, advocacy, and community education, since 1983. Advocates offers the following programs in its continuing effort toward decreasing and ultimately eliminating domestic and sexual violence.
Outward Bound
- Women's 3-day Survivor Course
- Mom and Daughter Course
Violence Prevention - High School Peer Education
- High school students recieve 15 hours of training and present to peers.
- Students present to middle school students.
- The peer educators won an award from the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) in June 2005 for their work and a video produced as part of a project several years ago.
Workplace Violence
- Training, consulting and working with employees regarding violence in the workplace.
- Collaboration with Ski Corp - produced brochures regarding the issues for Ski Corp employees in English and Spanish.
- Produced a workplace violence training video entitled, "Office Space."
SAFE/SART
- Collaborating with numerous community agencies and entities through the Sexual Assault Response Team.
- Will administer a new SAFE program in Routt County to better serve sexual assault victims recieving forensic exams and treatment.
Routt Couty Supervised Visitation & Safe Exchange
Lethality Assessment
- Will complete lethality assessments at the request of other professionals and/or for AABA clients during safety planning.
