Lift-Up of Routt County 

FOOD BANK & EMERGENCY SERVICES GUIDELINES
 

Welcome to Lift-up of Routt County Food Bank. We are a Routt County United Way Agency. All assistance is made possible through the generous donations of businesses, civic groups, churches and individuals. Services are provided based on need and availability. Referrals to other agencies may be offered to meet other needs.

 

To determine eligibility for services, we will need the following information:

 
  • Photo ID
  • Length of time you have resided in Routt County (Steamboat, Hayden, South Routt, and Clark).
  • Employment status of all adults in the household.
Upon filling out an application, you will be advised if you are eligible for assistance.

 

Food Assistance Available: All bags are to be taken in one visit.

  • Each food visit consists of up to 2 bags of food per qualified household member with a maximum of 10 bags.  Additionally, you may receive 1 bag of personal items per household.
  • You many also visit the food bank to obtain "perishables" as needed.  These are items donated by the markets which we bring in on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Generally we receive bread and dairy items but what is available is dependent upon what is given to us.
  • You may pickup "perishables" any day that we are open.  There is no limit to the numbers of visits and these visits do not count toward you eligibility limits.
  • Depending on age and income, you may be eligible for USDA commodities,  These are government issued groceries and are available each calendar quarter. 

 If you are  Non-Resident or resident less than 6 months:

  • 1 visit in the first 6 months.
  • Perishables as needed.
  • Must show need for additional assistance.

If you are a Resident of 6 months or more (must show proof of residency-driver's license with Routt County address, utility bill, rent/mortgage statement, etc. that dates back at least 6 months):

  • 2 visits per calendar year on a quarterly basis. (1st Q=Jan, Feb, Mar, 2nd Q=Apr, May, Jun, 3rd Q=Jul, Aug, Sep, 4th Q= Oct, Nov, Dec.)
  • Perishables as needed.
  • Must show need for additional assistance-maximum 4 visits per year on a quarterly basis.                     

If you need additional assistance, you must demonstrate need by:

  • Providing income verification (social security letter or pay stubs) OR job search information (record interviews, Workforce application, etc.) If you are unable to work, you must provide information on why (proof of disability eligibility, medical information, etc.)
  • Providing proof of food stamp application/eligibilty.
  • Providing evidence of other agency assistance.
  • Providing household financial information: bills for rent, utilities, etc.
