The western end of Colfax Avenue in Oak Creek was known as Hickory Flats. It was the bad side of town in the 1920s, and the police were afraid of going down there. It was part of the third addition because it was the third area of town developed, and the Victor American mine tipple was near by. No one owned all the land it was owned by individuals. It also contained the red light district, and there was lots of gambling and bootlegging.

This house belonged to a family of 8 or more. This house consisted of the main family (brothers, sisters and parents) and the grandparents.
