In 1959 Oak Creek's city park was used as a football field for the Oak Creek Union High Miners. It was bordered on the east by Gillians Icehouse and Pond.

to help restore the park.Sandbags were used keep the creek back.New sod was brought in & laid by volunteers.The beautiful new park was dedicated to Jim "Decker" Babcock who was killed in a mine accident.
