No one died, and it's a pretty amazing thing. When you mention the Tugboat River Race to those who were there, you can see the memories come flowing back and they usually say, "Oh my god, I can't believe the things we did, and survived to tell about it." The race started back in the 70's and ran until the early 80's. Sponsored by the Tugboat Saloon and B&K Distributing, alcohol flowed freely and memories were made by all.
