The Mountain area is where the Steamboat Ski Resort is located along with the commercial areas of Central Park, Wildhorse Meadows, Ski Times Square and Gondola Square. Housing in the Mountain area consists primarily of second homes adjacent to the base area in the form of Condos and Townhomes and starts to add a higher mix of single family homes as you go out. Homes where locals live increase in numbers as you get outside of the base area until you get out the Whistler area in the south part of the Mountain area which is nearly all local housing and is home to Whistler Park.
