2011 RC FAIR YOU BE THE JUDGE CONTEST

The project for the 2011 contest will be CHEMO HATS to be donated to the Heartfelt Hats Project at the Yampa Valley Medical Center. The hats are to be handmade or hand decorated, they can be for men or women. The are hats to be worn 24/7 to keep their heads warm...so winter weight for outside wear, medium weight for around the house and light weight to wear to sleep.

It is requestewd the hats are NOT 100% ACRYLIC! This will limit the yarns but the recipients feel they are not as comfortable and therefore choose note to wear them. Suggested yarns are 100% cotton, bamboo, wool mix...soft, not itchy. The hats should cover the whole head, preferabley with a roll/fold up lower edge to cover the ears for outside wear. The internet has many suggestions and free patterns available. For those who sew...turbans, hats. For those who knit and crochet...turbans, toboggan style, etc. WASHABLE!
