Routt County is part of the 15 county Colorado River Water Conservation District, an organization that works on behalf of the West Slope in water issues, especially those concerning the Colorado River Basin.

The Colorado River Water Conservation District is tax-supported by all of the residents of our region, and each county has a representative on the board that is appointed by their county commissioners.
