About MOPS International

Better Moms Make A Better World.

What is MOPS International?
MOPS International (Mothers of Preschoolers) is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging, equipping and developing every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader.  It was founded in 1973 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

MOPS International’s primary tools for encouragement are local meetings where every mother of preschooler is invited to come and experience authentic community, personal growth and practical parenting tips to encourage moms to be the best mom possible. Better moms make a better world.

Why is MOPS International relevant?
Best-selling author Rick Warren ( The Purpose-Driven Life ) has said, “There is no more significant group of cultural changers in the world than mothers.” In the U.S. alone there are 14.3 million mothers with children under the age of 6; MOPS International focuses on meeting the needs of mothers of preschoolers, because when you impact a mom, you impact her family and ultimately the world. Better moms make a better world.

MOPS International offers a range of day and evening MOPS groups in both urban and suburban settings. The groups attract a variety of attendees, including stay-at-home moms, working moms, military moms and teen moms.

What does a MOPS group look like?
MOPS groups exist to support every mother of a preschooler and adapt to fit the size and personality of the group’s community.

In addition to providing meetings for moms, MOPS provides a simultaneous program for their kids, called MOPPETS. Other MOPS resources include MomSense magazine (a magazine just for mothers of preschoolers), Connections magazine, FullFill magazine, the MOPS website (www.MOPS.org) including mom forums, mom events and leadership training events including the annual MOPS International convention and books just for moms.
