Who: All 4-H Shooting Sports Members

When: Sunday, July 26, 2009

Where: Steamboat Shooting Range

.22 & Air Rifle begins at 9:00 a.m.
Archery AND Shotgun begins at 11:00 a.m.

All shooting sports members are encouraged to do an Exhibit for Exhibit Day on Saturday August 1st. These exhibits need to demonstrate anything to do with shooting sports. The exhibit will be judged and the top exhibits will be invited to go to State Fair.

Outstanding Member Award -- 1/3 Shooting Score on Completion Day, 1/3 Interview Score on Completion Day, 1/3 Record Book Score. If a member shoots more than one discipline on Completion Day, their top score will be used. Outstanding Member Awards are divided into Junior and Senior Awards and will be awarded at Achievement Day in November. To be considered for the 'Outstanding Shooter' at Achievement Day, members MUST attend this completion day and complete an interview (done at this completion).  Members who cannot attend this date, may complete through their local leader, but they will not be considered for this award.

State Fair Qualification -- Members will also be considered for State Competition at this completion day.  REMINDER - to be eligible for State Fair, a member MUST have a current hunter's safety card.

NEW THIS YEAR.... SHOOTING SPORTS RECORD BOOKS ARE DUE AT EXHIBIT DAY ON AUGUST 1st.... If a member is going to State Fair to compete, their record books need to include those scores and will be accepted (without penalty) on the record book due date in September.
