Steamboat Springs Ice Rink Facility [Click here to view full size picture] Purpose Statement:

"Our purpose is to implement the vision statements from other Community Plan elements; update capital projects from the 1995 Community Plan; identify specific capital facilities projects and establish a balance for community needs as identified in other Community Plan elements; and determine priorities for capital facilities projects."

Vision Statement:

"We enhance, maintain, and protect the character and heart of our community through a coordinated capital facilities plan that supports other Community Plan elements."




The following is a list of Capital Facilities issues identified by this group:

  • Over-Reliance On Sales Tax As Primary Revenue Source
  • Land Acquisition Needs To Be A Component Of The Capital Improvement Program
  • Adequate Funds For Steamboat’s Ski Town And Western Heritage
  • Transportation And Public Safety Issues Should Be the Focus Of the Ski Base Area
  • Need For Encompassing Family/Community Center
  • Diversify And Stabilize The Local Economy
  • Capital Projects Should Be Balanced
  • CIP Should Address Downtown Improvements
