Pursuant to the City of Steamboat Springs' Home Rule Charter, the City is divided into three districts. Within those districts, two registered electors may serve on the Steamboat Springs City Council. All registered electors within the City limits are entitled to vote for all Council Members. The Council is comprised of seven members total, two from each of the three districts and one member serving At-Large.
Every five years, the City Council is required to examine the voter population within each district and include as nearly as possible the same number of qualified electors within each district.
The proposed redistricting scenerio was prepared by City Clerk Julie Jordan and was presented to City Council and approved
