Recycling Wranglers Protect our West from Waste
Educating our children and outreach to the community, we believe, is probably the most important volunteer activity we perform at Yampa Valley Recycles. Sure we all want to see expanded recycling options, but these activities don't happen unless volunteers are willing to step out into the community and teach others the benefit of source reduction (reduce), the purchasing power of buying recycled products (reuse), and lastly recycling itself (recycle). Reduce, reuse, recycle.

Throughout the school year our Wranglers will be reaching out to our future generation. Our Education Wranglers currently have three educational programs available to all Routt County Schools.

  • For 3rd grade we offer our Hands-on activity entitled, Throwing it all away - or not.

  • For 4th/5th graders we offer our popular gameshow, Who Wants to be a Recycling Wrangler?

  • Our middle school program, Adventures in Recycling, can be taught to 6th, 7th, or 8th grades. A movie (with teen age actors) accompanies an instuctional period where kids are grouped into teams and travel around stations to answer recycling questions.

There is a heap of learning, lots of laughter, and fun during all three programs!

Teachers, contact us early so our wranglers are sure to make a visit to your classroom! So why not join our posse? Become a Recycling Wrangler and help to "Save the West from Waste"! Call our hotline at 970-870-7575 or send us an Email at yamparecycle@hotmail.com.
