A Pedestrian Recycling Unit (PRU) is an enclosure that houses newspaper racks and has slots for recycling items such as newspapers, magazines, junk mail, aluminum cans, and plastic and glass bottles. Yampa Valley Recycles goals for building this unit was to provide a place for recycling and to imporve the appearnace of the sidewalk downtown Oak Creek. This PRU was built in 2007 by the Steamboat Springs High School Vocational Arts classes with donations from EPYCS Soroco High School and Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation. The pedestals and spacers were donated by Denver Newspaper Agency. The Green Team at SOROCO High School services this unit.
