Every Friday at noon, during July and August (check The Happenings) enjoy the Brown Bag Summer Lecture Series: History with the Locals. Speakers present various topics about our area. From outlaws, to ranch history, from local lore to local music, the Museum is the place to be in the summer.
Museum staff tape the lectures which are available for viewing. All lectures take place on Fridays, from Noon to 1:00 at the Tread of Pioneers Museum, 8th and Oak Streets, Steamboat Springs.

July 11 : Celebrating 95 years, Perry-Mansfield presents “Past Campers’ Experiences From the Renowned Performing Arts Camp.”

July 18 : Legendary local, Elaine Gay remembers “Downtown and the Locals Who Made it Unique.”

July 25 : Joyce Lohse presents Governor Routt Family history in “Routts to Colorado.” *Presented at Noon and again at 5:00 pm.

Aug. 1 : “Mount Harris Through the Eyes of a Coal Miner” by Chuck Mack.

Aug. 8 : Rosemary Farrell unravels “The History of Sheep and Wool in Routt County.”

Aug. 15 : Pete Schroeder unveils the “History of Decoys and Waterfowl in Northwestern Colorado.”

Aug. 22 : “The Style and Accomplishments of Local Architect Icon, Art Gumprecht” presented by Arianthe’ Stettner.

Aug. 29 : Historian Bill Fetcher discusses the “History of The Moffat Railroad.”

Sept. 5 : For a preview of the upcoming Foundations of Steamboat exhibit, Jim Stanko tells “The Stanko/Willett Family History.”
