Brief Biography:
Dayton grew up Nordic skiing at his parents’ ski center; however, he did not learn to jump until he was 19. His Nordic Combined career lasted 6 years in which he learned to jump, made the U.S Ski team, had four top-ten World Cup finishes, competed in two World Championships and the 2002 Olympics. Dayton’s best result was placing 5th in a World Cup in Steamboat Springs, following a month of being off circuit from two consecutive concussions in November of 2002. Throughout his career he believes that God blessed him with the support of friends, family, the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and their coaches and the family that he now has in Steamboat.

Dayton currently lives in Breckenridge, Colorado with his wife Janelle and son Lucas. He is still very active in the ski industry, where he helps his family operate the Breckenridge and Frisco Nordic Ski Centers. He is also the program director and head coach for the local Junior ski club. Although he lives outside Steamboat now, he says that a part of his heart is still in Steamboat.
