Directions: Take Lincoln Ave. to 13th Street, turn onto 13th Street and follow it approximately 1/2 mile until you are able to see a large sign for BMC West. Directly across the street from BMC West is Critter Court. Turn onto Critter Court, we are the last building at the top on the left hand side.

Volunteer Information The Steamboat Springs Animal Shelter is always happy to have volunteers. We require a volunteer consent form to be signed and any children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Our volunteers walk dogs, play with the cats, kittens and puppies. They also do some minor cleaning, preparation of the adoption kits, and general help.

Everyone is welcome to volunteer at the animal shelter. We are happy for any time you can give us. Often times we do not know a great deal about our animals' behavior and characteristics. The more time they spend on walks and interacting with the community, the more we learn about them.

Adoptive parents have 3 months (for an adult dog or cat) and/or 6 months (for a puppy or kitten) to get their new family member spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies. At this time the refundable deposits will be deducted from your total bill.

We encourage all perspective adoptive parents to consider their adoptions carefully. We would be more than happy to have you come down to the shelter, walk and spend time with any dog or cat you may be interested in adopting. We want you to be happy with your new pet.
