Yampa Valley Medical Center
There are many different ways you can volunteer at the Yampa Valley Medical Center, please read the discriptions below then click on the link for more information:

Dream Team:
The mission of the Steamboat Dream Team is to promote and advance the wellness of the community through the continued welfare of Yampa Valley Medical Center a not-for-profit health care organization. This is accomplished through fundraising, public relations, community education and working in coordination with all YVMC partners.

The Auxiliary
The Hospital Auxiliary provides service to Yampa Valley Medical Center to benefit the patients and community. The hospital features a beautiful interfaith chapel designed and furnished by the Auxiliary. The volunteer group also contributed to playground equipment at GrandKids Child Care Center and lighted memorabilia boxes at the Doak Walker Care Center. Approximately 60 members volunteer for the annual Health Fair, the Help At Hand hostess service for ski season patients and families, and the community blood drives. Auxiliary fund-raisers include the annual Steamboat in Style fashion show luncheon, the annual Yampa River Rubber Ducky Race, and ongoing sales of the Steamboat Springs Centennial quilt print.

Doak Walker Care Center:
The lively activities program at the Doak Walker Care Center depends on community members who share their time and energy with our residents.
Volunteers assist a professional staff with regular activities such as ice cream socials, bingo and keno games, and arts and crafts projects.

Healing Friends:
Volunteers in "Healing Friends" the animal-assisted activities program are having a positive impact on patients at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Well-trained and carefully supervised dogs that make hospital rounds with their owners are popular with staff and patients.
