The Buffalo Pass area is not patrolled. Hazards are not marked. Avalanches are not controlled. Take responsibility for your actions. Be prepared to self rescue. Travel in a group and let other people know where you are going, when to expect you back, and check in when you return.

Rabbit Ears Pass is divided into areas of motorized and non-motorized winter uses. The east side of the pass is designated for snowmobiling. All the groomed and maintained snowmobile routes are located there, marked with orange diamonds.
On the west side of the pass, non-motorized routes for skiers and snowshoers are marked with blue diamonds.

Pearl Lake State Park, nestled in the mountains north of Steamboat Springs, offers peace and quiet in a lush forest setting. Surrounded by towering pines, visitors camp along the lake and up a gentle hill, which is deep in the cozy woods.
