So many kids that grow up in Steamboat Springs are part of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club that the club produces an amazing number of elite athletes. That makes it likely that if you grew up here, you probably got the chance to harrass your friend about being in the paper every week, or watch them compete in the Olympics, the X-Games or other world-class competitions. Or, you might have had the chance to see world-class athletes hurtle off the hill across the river. No matter, it's all about the Winter Sports, and that's why they call us "Ski Town, USA."
